Operations Manager

Under limited supervision, is responsible for directing the day to day operations of Will County Animal Protection Services • Assists the Administrator and Deputy Administrator in ongoing development and success of Will County Animal Protection Services internally and in the community • Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to ensure best practices of union staff and operations including customer service, financials, and daily care needs of animals at the shelter as well as animal pathways and placement • Performs all departmental payroll functions, including verifying time entries, reviewing overtime sheets, and time-off benefit requests • Prepares the payroll by entering the appropriate payroll codes into the HRIS/Payroll software, including any benefit time and leaves • Oversee onboarding, training, reviews, and performance plans of direct reports • Prepares, maintains, and processes all paperwork related to personnel, leave of absences, workman’s compensation, disciplinary paperwork, and grievances • Oversee the adoption process and procedures, ensuring high customer service standards • Establish, review, and maintain internal controls and procedures for data management, operations, facilities and fleet maintenance, and program analysis • Trains and advise staff regarding personnel policies and procedures • Ensure the organization and employees are current on all necessary licensing and certifications
