The Steamboat Springs Police Department is looking for an energetic person to join our team as a Community Service Officer (CSO). The CSO position is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful service to the community and gain valuable experience in the field of law enforcement. This is a uniformed, non-commissioned position (will not carry a firearm) serving the City of Steamboat Springs. The successful candidate will be an integral part of promoting and maintaining the high level of professionalism and community-focused actions of the Steamboat Springs Police Department. 

GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs routine and complex public safety work in the enforcement of the City of Steamboat Springs’ Municipal Code regarding public safety and animal control and assists Police in the investigation and enforcement of Colorado Revised Statutes. Investigates and enforces laws, parking regulations, animal welfare complaints, animal bites, non-injury accident response, crowd and traffic control.
