Juneau Animal Rescue in stunning Juneau, Alaska is currently seeking a full-time Animal Control and Protection Officer.
This position provides assistance and advocacy to animals in need, and enforces local laws and ordinances concerning the care, health, licensing, disposal, and impounding of animals.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Conducts investigations and inspections regarding animal cruelty.
• Issues warnings and citations and testifies in court regarding minor offenses and cruelty charges.
• Educates the public about relevant animal regulations and humane animal care.
• Routinely patrols designated areas enforcing local animal laws and ordinances.
• Rescues stray, injured and nuisance domestic animals in the most safe and humane manner possible.
• Administers emergency first aid to injured animals.
• Arbitrates disputes between members of the public.
• Coordinates efforts with other community professionals such as police officers, court officials, veterinarians, and other shelter advocates.
• Prepares written investigative reports that may be introduced as legal court documents.
Paid time off and medical benefits available to full-time employees after 90-day probationary period, 401K available after one year. Pay D.O.E.
