Are you passionate about animal welfare and public safety? NOCO Humane is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Animal Protection and Control to lead our dedicated team in enforcing animal control ordinances and promoting responsible pet ownership across Larimer County. In this full-time leadership role, you’ll oversee a team of officers and dispatchers, manage the day-to-day operations of our Animal Protection and Control department, and ensure compliance with state and local laws. As a key member of the management team, you’ll collaborate with community partners, provide expert guidance, and be the voice of animal protection in the community.

We’re looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 4 years of experience in animal protection, code enforcement, or law enforcement, ideally in a supervisory or management capacity. You should have at least 3 years of staff management experience, with a proven ability to lead, train, and develop teams. Strong customer service, communication, and public speaking skills are essential, as is the ability to negotiate contracts and engage with government agencies. Familiarity with Colorado State Animal Control Officer certification, court testimony, and animal shelter software (Chameleon) is preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, with a wage premium offered.

Expected hiring range is $82k to $98k commensurate with applicable education, experience and certifications.  Relocation assistance is available.  Closes December 31st, 2024, or when filled.
